This morning, we departed our lodgings in Oban and drove south for about 45 minutes to our first stop at Kilmartin Glen, an important prehistoric linear cemetery dating from around 3500 BC to 1500 BC. Due to time constraints we restricted our visit to two sites: Temple Wood Stone Circles and Dunchraigaig Cairn. At the former our arrival coincided with a tour group performing a private ceremony in context of a tour of sacred sites.

Highland Cows

Today, I visited Loch Lomond, the largest fresh water lake in the British Isles, using the village of Luss as a base.

Luss is a Gaelic word meaning ‘herb’ or ‘plant’.

This morning, we departed Glasgow and embarked on a tour as follows:

First the heritage village of Luss on the banks of Loch Lomond. Here we connected with a Piper at the church, toured the village and visited shops.
