This morning, we departed from our base in Fort William for Isle of Skye, a trip which had been delayed by 24 hours due to impact of adverse weather on the ferry crossing.

This morning, we departed our Inverness lodgings and drive south, down Scotland’s Great Glen (valley) with first┬ástop about half way down Loch Ness at Castle Urquhart.

Piper at Glencoe

This morning I collected tour group from Glasgow Airport at 7.45 am and then embarked on a trip as follows:

  • North to Loch Lomond via Dumbarton. Here we stopped at the heritage village of Luss on the banks of the Loch and visited the church in burial ground of which is a Viking-era ‘hogback’ grave marker which may date from the 9th century.
