South Inch Park, Perth, Scotland

My blog tonight reports on today’s visit to the City of Perth (pop 45,000 ) in central Scotland.

Perth sits on the banks of the River Tay (Scotland’s longest river system) and has a history dating back to the 10th century. Perth was made a Royal Burgh in the 12th century and in 1201 a Merchant Guild was established. Of the buildings from the medieval period only St John’s Kirk survives.

Hiking group with canine friend

This evening, I am reporting on today’s small group hike along a walkway centred on the Water of Leith (river)¬†flowing through Edinburgh, Scotland, to the nearby Port of Leith where it connects with the sea via the Firth of Forth (bay or estuary). The river is ¬†twenty miles long and rises in the Colzium Springs.
