Today, I provided a short, escorted walking tour of Govan for a couple from England with Govan ancestry.

Although temperature was minus 5.5 C./ 22.1 F. the weather was otherwise perfect with brilliant sunshine and no wind.

South Inch Park, Perth, Scotland

My blog tonight reports on today’s visit to the City of Perth (pop 45,000 ) in central Scotland.

Perth sits on the banks of the River Tay (Scotland’s longest river system) and has a history dating back to the 10th century. Perth was made a Royal Burgh in the 12th century and in 1201 a Merchant Guild was established. Of the buildings from the medieval period only St John’s Kirk survives.
