Hiking group with canine friend

This evening, I am reporting on today’s small group hike along a walkway centred on the Water of Leith (river) flowing through Edinburgh, Scotland, to the nearby Port of Leith where it connects with the sea via the Firth of Forth (bay or estuary). The river is  twenty miles long and rises in the Colzium Springs.

Hike Argyll, Scotland

This evening, I am reporting on today’s small group hike through a forested area of Argyll in West of Scotland.

The route ran between Tarbet and Arrochar, covering 6.5 miles between Loch Lomond and Loch Long, about forty miles N.W. of Glasgow. Tarbet means a place where ships could be carried over (between Loch Lomond and Loch Long) and dates back, possibly, to the Viking era, about 1200 years ago.
