Culloden Battlefield

Today, we benefited from improved weather and were able to spend the morning at Culloden Battlefield near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. This was the site of the last battle on British soil when, on April 16th 1746, a Highlander (Jacobite) army under Bonnie Prince Charlie was defeated by a British force under General Cumberland.

This evening, I am reporting on Armadale Castle on the Isle of Skye, Inner Hebrides, Scotland.

Armadale is located on the S.E. tip of Skye and is a berthing point for the ferry which operates between Armadale and Mallaig on the mainland.
