The Battle of Bannockburn, near Stirling in Scotland took place over two days in June 1314 around 20,000 English troops led by King Edward II engaged in a battle with around 10,000 Scotts led by Robert the Bruce at which the latter prevailed. Exact location of the battle site is not known.

This afternoon I visited the Heritage Centre near Stirling in central Scotland which commemorates the famous battle between the forces of Robert I (Scotland) and Edward II (England) which took places over June 23rd. and 24th., 1314.

Portencross Castle, West Kilbride, Scotland

This afternoon I am reporting on Portencross Castle, Ayrshire, S.W. Scotland which situated on the coast, thirty four miles S.W. of Glasgow facing the Firth of Clyde and Little Cumbrae Island.
