Iona is an island which lies off the west coast of Scotland.Today, this is principally a spiritual retreat centred on the Iona Community which hasĀ a line of descent from the arrival of St. Columba in AD 563. Columba founded an early Irish-Christian monastery from where Christianity was introduced into Northern Britain.

Today, we departed Craignure on Isle of Mull and then drove to nearby Fishnish to connect with the ferry to Lochaline on the Scottish Mainland. Next, a backroads tour via Corran to Fort William where stopped for lunch. Next, on to Spean Bridge and then to Isle of Skye stopping at Eilean Donan Castle. Next to Armadale and finally to our lodgings at Kyleakin.

Today, we departed Craignure on Isle of Mull and drove to Fionnphort then ferry to Iona. On Iona we viisted the famous Abbey and other sites then returned by ferry to Mull where we undertook an anti-clockwise tour taking in Eas Fors Waterfall and Calgary Bay.
