This evening, I am focusing on the Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Glasgow Style Gallery at Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, Glasgow, Scotland.

Mackintosh was a Glasgow based designer and artist who lived 1868-1928 and has left a legacy of a wide range of work in the Glasgow region. His extensive skills produced jewellery, graphics, wall decoration, paintings, pottery vases, wood engraving, domestic objects and complete buildings with best example of latter represented by the Glasgow School of Art. The heart of his work centred on the design of places to be inhabited. He was one of a group known as the ‘Glasgow Four’ the other three of which were Margaret MacDonald (his wife), Francis MacDonald and Herbert McNair.
