St Andrews Castle, Scotland

This morning, we departed our lodgings in Dundee and embarked on a tour as follows:

  • First to St. Andrews. First we called in at the St Andrews Links Trust ( Clubhouse) for coffee in a restaurant which afforded excellent views of the Old Course and other prestigious golf courses. next we drove through the town, with its wide streets, to visit the (ruined) medieval cathedral and associated sites, including St Rule’;s Tower, Combination of sunshine and good visibility provided excellent photo opps.

Tour Guests at Swilken Bridge, St Andrews, Scotland

This morning, we departed our lodgings in Stirling, central Scotland and drove east for about 90 minutes, through Tillicoultry,Dollar, Auchtermuchty and Cupar to our first destination of St Andrews. This trip was undertaken in unseasonal mild, dry weather with blue sky and sunshine. To the North was a line of hills known as the Ochills. The landscape was mainly flat and agricultural being used for sheep and barley growing.
