Arran Clearances Memorial at Lamlash

Today was characterised by rain with varying degrees of intensity. This was as forecast but forced changes to our plans which had featured visits to coastal sites to view fossilised footprints from the dinosaur era.

Today, we embarked on two hiking trips from our base at Lagg in the south of the Isle of Arran.

Forecast rain failed to materialise but cloud cover resulted in mediocre visibility. Temperature was mild with little wind.

Isle of Skye Bridge from Kyleakin

Today, we benefited from favourable weather conditions, albeit with some rain showers.

We departed our lodgings in Kyleakin and drove north through Broadford to our first stop at the popular viewpoint of Sligachan where we were able to view the rugged landscapes of the Red Cuillin Mountains and Glen Sligachan.
