Today, our main focus was the key sites in and around Glasgow.

After first attending to flight confirmations for following day we proceeded as follows:

  • To Pollock Park to view and photograph a small herd of Highland Cattle which are very placid and photogenic animals.

Today, commenced with a very early start. At 5.00am I was able to take some stunning images of  a brilliant red sunrise at Broadford on Skye.

Mural

This evening, myself and few others visited the pleasant country town of Strathaven, about 40 mins drive from Glasgow. Strathaven is very well kept and has much to offer the visitor including:

  • Ruined 16th century castle
  • Imposing churches including the 18th century, Strathaven East Parish Church.
  • Brewery.
  • Many good eating places. We dined at the Strathaven Hotel which dates from the late 18th century.
  • Well kept parks.
  • Pleasant burn (stream) running through the town.

This evening I am posting images of my recent visit to the South Lanarkshire town of Strathaven
I visited the town centre, Avendale church and castle

Unfortunately Google won’t let me upload the images-will try again another day.

Strathaven is certainly a nice little town and worthy of a visit if in the area.
