Isle of Skye Bridge from Kyleakin

Today, we benefited from favourable weather conditions, albeit with some rain showers.

We departed our lodgings in Kyleakin and drove north through Broadford to our first stop at the popular viewpoint of Sligachan where we were able to view the rugged landscapes of the Red Cuillin Mountains and Glen Sligachan.

Quiraing, Isle of Skye

Today was characterised by persistent rain in the morning which progressively changed to a dry but overcast afternoon.

We departed our lodging sin Fort William and drove towards Mallaig stopping at Glenfinnan with intention ofm seeing the sights there. Unfortunately, the visibility was too poor for photographs and image below of the viaduct is from writer’s archive.

Quiraing landslip, Trotternish, Skye

This evening, I am posting information on the spectacular Trotternish (Trondairnis in Gaelic) area of the Isle of Skye off Scotland’s West Coast.Trotternish forms the northernmost peninsula or ‘wing’ of Skye. (The island is also known as the ‘winged island’ due to its geography.)
