Today, at Greenbank House garden, I was presented with a wide array of colourful flowers spanning a spectrum comprising pink, cream, purple, white, copper, blue, violet and scarlet. Despite being late season I found the display (depth and range) superior to that usually available during the summer period with added dimension of the harsh and angled sunlight.

Today I am reporting on a recent small group hikeĀ along a route covering seven miles between Lanark and Cleghorn Bridge. This location is about twenty-eight miles S.E. of Glasgow in the west of Scotland The route covered a rural landscape with extensive range of trees and vegetation. Autumnal fruits such as elderberries and blueberries were encountered plus fungi.

Today, we embarked on a twelve-hour, Glasgow-Langholm-Glasgow tour with emphasis on Clan Armstrong in the Langholm region of the Scottish Borders. Sites covered included Rowanburn, Gilnockie Tower, Langholm Castle, Tourneyholm, Ettleton Cemetery, Milnholm Cross, Mangerton Tower and Carlenrig.
