Piper at Loch Lomond, Scotland

This morning, I collected guests from central Edinburgh and embarked on a tour as follows:

  • First, drive west for 90 mins to our first stop at Luss, Loch Lomond. Here we saw quaint, historic houses, Loch Lomond (lake) and Ben Lomond (mountain) resplendent in morning sunshine, a talented young piper, a wedding party, Viking era ‘hogback’ burial at Luss Church, and duck with ducklings on local river.

Jacobite Express at Glenfinnan, Scotland

This morning, we departed our lodgings in Fort William and drove west for about 15 miles to Glenfinnan.prime purpose if the visit was to watch the Jacobite Express ( aka ‘Harry Potter Train’) traversing the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Loch Shiel, Scottish Highlands

This evening, I am posting information on Loch Shiel which is situated about 12 miles west of Fort William.

Although located close the coast, Loch Shiel is comprised of  fresh water, and 11.3 miles long.
