At the fifty-six acre site at Batsford Arboretum can be found 2850 plant specimens including 1300 trees, shrubs and bamboo. Specimens have been sourced from around the world with emphasis on the Far East. The collection includes Japanese Flowering Cherries and a project focused on conifer conservation, including conifers from Chile.

This morning I took advantage of the (somewhat unusual) bright sunlight to obtain images of the illuminated trees, leaves and vegetation which illustrate the progressive transformation to the threshold of winter. Location was Rouken Glen Park in Glasgow, Scotland.

This evening I am reporting on a hike over a route which covered about seven miles, passing between Drumfrochar and Wemyss Bay, in West of Scotland. Some of the higher elevations in the region reach about fifteen hundred feet. This location is bordered by the River Clyde where it is known as the Firth of Clyde.
