Rouken Glen is a public park in Glasgow which is highly rated and popular with locals with evidence of human activity dating back about five thousand years. However, many of the trees and vegetation growing there are not native whilst the burn (stream) providing the waterfalls does not follow its natural course owing to engineering works in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Dunvegan Castle, the home of the Chief of Clan MacLeod is situated on the north coast of the Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands. The connected Highland garden was originally laid out in the 18th century and is backed by an extensive mature woodland.Here can be found a kaleidoscope of colours with emphasis on lush greens supported by other seasonal flowering plants,

This morning we experienced bright, angled sunlight which provided useful photo opportunities in nearby Rouken Glen Park. As will be evident from the portfolio of images provided, the light conditions  provided special effects in form of watery reflections, shadows, illumination of end of season leaves and lighting of waterfalls.
