Sheep on Arran

Today, we benefited from mild, dry weather with low wind, a far cry from the recent sub-hurricane.

We departed Glasgow, drove south to Ardrossan on the coast and caught an afternoon ferry to Brodick on Isle of Arran.

Million Dollar View, Dornoch Firth.

This evening, I am posting information on the ‘Million Dollar View’.

Image above was taken from the lower reaches of Struie Hill, Ross-shire, Scotland on the A836 looking north. Villages on the edge of the Firth (north) include Kincardine, Ardgay and Bonar Bridge. To the east (right of the picture) the Firth connects with the North Sea.

Scottish Fisheries Museum, Anstruther.

This evening, I am posting information on the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther, Fife.

Anstruther is about fifty miles N.E. of Edinburgh.

This museum is an excellent and well presented facility which allows visitors to connect with the fishing industry which has a long tradition in Scotland although now only a shadow of its former self.
