Portree Harbour, Isle of Skye

Portree Harbour, Isle of Skye, Scotland

This evening, I am posting images and a video clip of Portree Harbour on the Isle of Skye, Scotland.

Portree is an anglicised version of the Gaelic for Royal Port. The small harbour is very attractive with its line of pastel coloured waterfront properties redolent of Tobermory on Mull. There is also an excellent fish and chip shop, an active fishing industry and the occasional visiting cruise ship. The Cuillin Mountains can usually be viewed in the distance.

Portree is invariably an essential stop during my tours of Skye  and I always recommend guests pay a short visit to the harbour to savour the food, sights and sounds.
