Dalwhinnie Distillery which is located at 1000 feet above sea level in the coldest inhabited place in Scotland, about sixty miles north of Perth in the Central Highlands of Scotland.The average annual temperature in Dalwhinnie, Scotland is cool at 6.2 degrees Celsius (43.2 degrees Fahrenheit). Key products comprise a 15 year old, a Distillers Edition, distillery exclusive (no age statement) and Special Release 25 year-old.

Today, we departed Pitlochry in central Scotland and drove to Inverness in the Highlands visiting Dalwhinnie Distillery, Culloden Battlefield and Clava Cairns en-route.

Ben Nevis distillery in Fort William, Scotland has four large stills which produce 2000 litres of spirit per annum. Most of the output goes for blending. Produces own blend  ‘Dew of Ben Nevis’. Every year about 50pct. of the newmake spirit is sent to Japan to form part of the blend Nikka Black.
