Spring Flower at Greebank

This afternoon, warm and sunny, I cycled round to Greenbank Garden, south of Glasgow, to obtain some images with a flavour of Spring. To an extent I achieved my objective but have to apologise for image quality as I lost power on my principal digital camera and had to resort to the cellphone camera and hence poor quality of images. This evening, my focus is one Geilston Garden, which is situated at the west end of Cardross, about 18 miles north of Glasgow. This chiefly comprises a stone walled garden which may, like Geilston House, date from the late 18th century. The garden is the creation of two ladies who built on the Victorian garden in the 20th century, namely a Miss Bell and a Miss Hendry. It now features as a delightful little gem in the portfolio of heritage properties owned by the National Trust for Scotland.

Today, we enjoyed an interesting tour during which we witnessed part of the Glasgow Women’s 10K race 2010, visited two Mackintosh designed properties, visited Geilston Garden, near Helensburgh and drove around the southern tip of Loch Lomond near Cameron House, a High End resort.
